The search continues for quality products for our new project, La Antigua del Valle. Today my mother and I made our way to Santa Ana to a place called CERAMICA LAS PALOMAS, on the old road between Santa Ana and Escazu. I had been to Las Paloma’s several times before and had always admired their products. This little gem features handcrafted and hand painted pottery, lamps, plates, sinks, tiles, and more. You name it and they make it. They have many products ready to purchase but will custom make anything you want.
Today I placed an order for two top mount sinks that will go in one of the master suits of THE GINGER, the first house being built in La Antigua del Valle. Drawing from the name of the home, the sinks will feature large green foliage, with large red gingers and blue butterflies. Luis, the artist in the photo will be the creative force behind the artisan pieces. He asked what we wanted, and then drew a nice sketch in a matter of seconds, depicting exactly what we wanted!
Ceramic a Las Paloma’s is one of those true finds where everything is made on site. From the clay, to the potters wheel, kilns, painting, to the firing ovens. The artist who work at Las Paloma’s come from the local Bella Arts Schools at the local Universities and are truly passionate about their work. Luis was very attentive and wanted to be sure that we were both on the same page before we left. The sinks we ordered will take about 2 weeks to complete and Las Paloma’s will send out photos for approval once they are ready. I cannot wait!! With 20 years in Santa Ana, Ceramic a Las Paloma’s is one of those rare finds that you keep going back to over and over again.
