It’s the first official day of Social Media Marketing World 2013 and we are kicking it off with a bang in the beautiful San Diego! The day began with a 7am Continental breakfast and networking and then the 8am keynote from our host and CEO of Social Media Examiner, Michael Stelzner in the San Diego Ballroom.
The ballroom was packed and the energy was amazing. The always-lovely Mari Smith presented Michael Stelzner who delivered an amazing presentation on Social Media Marketing in 2013: New Research and Its Implications.
Social media is absolutely NOT dead and the more than 1100 attendees and 70 speakers are living that fact every day.
I continue to update and live blog about the event, the sessions and the speakers. Follow me on Twitter and also the hasthag #SMMW13 to keep up with all the action.

In addition to all of the amazing speakers, we have networking sessions to connect with our peers and I have met so many amazing people- some I knew online and had not met in person and others I might never have known were it not for this event.
Some of the most important lessons I have learned from the sessions so far are the value of integrity in content marketing, ABC (always be connecting), looking for the ways I can help and add value with my content and connections and that helping beats selling. I am so pumped up with ideas for my clients and myself, chock full of ideas and methods of creating new content ideas and so much more. Nights are long and mornings come early so look for more updates soon!
